Julian Harty, Managing Director, Commercetest.com

Julian started his career in electronics with the R.A.F in 1980 before moving to business services giant Dun & Bradstreet Corporation in 1987. Working in the Advanced Research and Development Group, Julian was responsible for the design, development, implementation and operation of all e-business systems across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 1998, Julian joined Infobank, a world leader in Web based purchasing systems. He was responsible for developing, implementing, and testing the company's e-procurement system, ensuring that it would work for large-scale clients.

Julian now runs Commercetest.com, a company he founded in 1999. Commercetest is a specialist independent company at the forefront of delivering reliable e-commerce. It is committed to providing the benefits of Internet business through the review, test, fault analysis and repair of e-business infrastructure. Julian is also a regular speaker and trainer on topics ranging from e-procurement to hands-on performance testing and is a member of the BCS performance testing working party; a team that is responsible for developing the formal standard on performance testing.
